I believe all learners are unique. It is important that students have the ability to learn through the use of the multiple intelligence theory. Student also learn by doing! Why Did I Become a Teacher? Like you, I was a FACS student when I was in high school. I began FACS classes in middle school, we called it "Home Ec." I always loved my FACS classes and and decided to take all the classes I could in middle and high school. I knew core classes were important but I always looked forward to my FACS classes the most. I remember taking Teen Living, Foods and Nutrition, Child Development, Apparel & Development and Early Childhood 1& 2. I learned the same things you are learning today! Through Early Childhood 1 & 2 upon graduation I received my Early Childhood Credentials.I discovered FCCLA as a high school student. It was through FCCLA that I developed my leadership skills. When I realized I had to become a grown up and choose a career, I found out I could study Family and Consumer Sciences in college and choose from a variety of careers that help people make informed life decisions. I am forever grateful that I had the chance to discover the "FACS" of life! |
